The Body Jan11
The body is fair but someone had used spray foam in the rear fenders. What a great way to trap and hold water in these areas. The floor supports, and seams are covered in foam. That is going to be fun getting it removed. I'll use acetone to remove it. But before I go into that, the trip to get the body.
January of 2011, This was an E-bay buy. My plan was to go back East and see some old fiends. We, my wife and I, are staying at one of their houses. I also got some time with an one of my best friends. The body was in Connecticut the two of us made the trip together. ROAD TRIP.
The ride up from Delaware to Connecticut with an old friend was great. The GPS kept us on track but if you are traveling with a trailer out on the east coast set the GPS to avoid tolls. I think I might spent an extra 100 dollars on tolls and paying to sit in traffic sucks. The drive up, I could not see New York but the I did see allot of cars in ditches. First snow of the year and it dropped 6 inches. We took our time and didn’t drive like the kids we saw going into ditches.
The guy selling the body was a really nice guy and from what I saw he is a real craftsman. Had a T-bird done, working on a Caddy and was collection parts for his own 70 442 convertible. From his house we went to his shop. He gave me two rear panels that I was going to need to fix the rear. Its going to some patches but it should work.
After I got the body home I had to get the body off of the new trailer and on to the old boat trailer. This old boat trailer I bought for $100 15 years ago. It has had many uses from moving my family and friends, boats, 500 gallons of water, and the list goes on. Well the old trailer is going to be the support frame for now. The body mounts are in great shape but the two in the back need a little work.
Hanging from the rafters.
The pole barn was built using old oil pipes. I would not have done this unless I know this could support it. It does look good this way. Maybe not the best place to hang it but it worked. I used the rear posts to lift the body. I was a little worried about this but it works great. The body is pretty sound. It didn’t even bend the window mount.

Getting back too it Feb18
So the body has been in the yard and the place is looking a little red neckish. I looked at the rear replacement panels and they have no rust. The kids are almost out of the house, My wife's health is doing better, and it is time.
