The 1970 442.
The 442 is a long project, very long project. The 442 belonged to a friend that could not keep it any longer. He was diagnosed with Huntingtins and has since past away. I got it as a basket case. It had an under hood fire, too many engines, he hit a jeep, and so much rust you need a tetanus shot to look at it. It spent years as a daily driver, with over size tires that rip the rear fender out every time it hit a bump. The road salts of southern Illinois did the rest of the work. The windshield has rust holes all the way around it. I remember the last time riding in the 442 in the rain, what a mess. There was so must water coming in from above and from the floor boards... I thought about fixing it but the damage is to far gone.
Finding the current body in such poor shape, I option for a better body to start from. I though about making it into a Rat Rod but just couldn't bring myself to do that. The pic to the left is in Delaware after picking up the body Connecticut. I also picked up a four door for the front end. The mark on the front right is pretty normal for these cars. |
The trip to get the body
This body was used for drag racing and was now being parted out.
