Someone had also welded the openings closed. in the out feed table. I opened these back up to allow the allow the saw guides to come fully down. When the saw is done cutting the guide is below the base and out feed table.
I also replaced bison that was under it. I had found a guy that was selling plate steel. When I got to his shop he cut it for me using a plasma cutter. WOW He also had a CNC plasma cutter. For a couple extra bucks he put it on the table and cut the holes for the legs. If you haven't ever used are seen a plasma cutter, you have too. See my page on plasma cutters (coming). |
The Well Saw replaced the old Buffalo saw. I paid 50 dollars down from 100 on a Craig's list ad. No Stand, guides worn out, and no power switch. For what it is, it worked good. I did add the legs and replaced the guides. It still cut crooked, to the outside. I think this was due to the wheels flatting the inside teeth on the blade. I did sell the saw for 150 dollars.

I have been using the saw without cooling.
The cutting end up past the end of the table. I plan on adding a rotary brush to help keep it on the tray.

Fresh paint. The old tray rusted out due to metal chips sitting on the tray. This paint should hold up for years.

This is the hanger for the bucket. I had built this with the down rod straight. When I hung it, the bucket would not sit flat. It is good to have a 25 ton press. Please not the bend. No heat needed here.
